If you want to be able to walk a grown up dog on a leash with out having any problems, then that dog should have had puppy leash training when he was still a young puppy. Every responsible dog owner should start puppy leash training while the puppy is still young. It makes taking the dog for walks when he is an older dog so much easier.
Puppy Leash training is required to ensure that your puppy grows into a happy confident dog, with you always in control and not having a potentially uncontrolled and aggressive dog fighting for dominance of the leash.
Puppy leash training can be accomplished if you follow these three simple steps.
Step 1
Familiarize your puppy with the collar let him wear it for short periods of time until he becomes comfortable wearing it.
Step 2
Familiarize him to the leash never leave him alone attached to the leash but let him follow you while you have a treat in your hand. Start with short periods at first, reward him with the treat and praise each time he acts correctly.
Step 3
If he starts to pull stop and move nearer to him or move him nearer to you then start again he will soon learn the behavior that brings him the treat and
praise.
