The Maruti XA Alpha may be at this time, just a concept car but the developers of the car have promised that once this concept car is mass produced by 2013, it will change the market for compact SUVs. Maruti specified that the car will have 2 models: the petrol model which will incorporate a fuel efficient K-series engine while the diesel model will incorporate Fiat’s 1.3liter diesel engine. The Maruti XA Alpha’s design rivals most compact SUVs with a wide, sporty and muscular frame capable of seating 5 people. The sleek interior and trendy in car features will be incorporated into the mass production design to further attract the masses. The developers have also reported that a 4×2 and an All Wheel Drive variety will be offered to buyers once the car becomes available to the market.
