Suede, like leather, is a material that has also been used for shoes, belts, jackets, bags and so many other things. Although this too is animal hide, the main distinction is that it comes from cattle. If you have noticed, this is softer and finer than regular leather – as if there is a coat of really short hair on its surface.

However, that does not mean that you won’t be able to choose a futon cover for your home anymore. There are various products which looks and feels exactly like Suede but is not as expensive as it.

One of those is called Microsuede. This is the favorite choice of people who like the feel of suede but do not like the idea of butchering one just for its hide. This is water-proof but that does not mean that you should just leave it wet. The liquid will still seep through into the mattress and that is something that you do not want to happen.
