Dutch Ovens history started in the 1600s. Dutch ovens were used to cast metal pans, and was used by the Dutch to make their shape and create a much smoother surface of their pots.
These ovens were called Dutch because they were the result of English research, while others felt that Dutch ovens are called so because of several Dutch traders in the past who sold their cooking as they moved from town to town. Enameled cast iron Dutch oven has since become widely used throughout the world.
During this time, Americans were able to use the Dutch ovens that were created shallower feet added to the Dutch Oven to draw the embers in it. Was also a flange added to the lid to keep out of the top glowing cooked food.
Functionality and efficiency of the enamel cast iron Dutch oven can not be taken for granted. That is why Dutch ovens are still one of the most popular out-door pot in the world.
