N scale layouts for your model railroad train table can be built from a variety of track plans found in books, or through the use of modern model design software programs. Atlas trains has a number of track plans that would probably work for most any model train layouts.
These resources have N scale track plans ranging from very small and simple layout plans, to larger, more extravagant model railroad layouts. Which design you ultimately choose should factor in considerations like: how much space you have available for a train table, experience level, and budget.
It is probably best to start with a layout design that is small enough that it won’t overwhelm you, but also large enough so that you and your skill level can grow along with your N scale model train layouts. Naturally, you will have to be the ultimate judge of what size N gauge layout is too big or too small; but you don’t want to bite off more than you can chew and get discouraged half way through your train table project.
So, whichever layout and N scale model trains you ultimately decide on, just make sure you think everything through!
