When you fist step into the wonderful world of marketing lists, you can waste a lot of money if you are not careful. First of all, you need to make sure that your systems and processes are in the kind of shape they need to be to be able to take in and process all the sales that will be coming in. Of course, this is based on you getting ahold of a good co-registration marketing list. Once you do, making sure that your company is ready for the leads is your first priority. But what if you are talking to the wrong people? If you are allowing your focus to be too broad, you are wasting money.
Marketing lists are all about efficiency. You have to have efficient targeting of your list, with no energy wasted on any people that should not be on your list. So how do you do that starting out? I’ll explain.
Begin with testing. Instead of buying one huge marketing list, buy several small ones in two or three main areas that you feel would be good areas for your company. This is all about testing, and you should be completely unattached to any part of your testing. Be completely willing to cut loose any list or part of a list that is not productive. This way, you begin to get a clear picture of just where you should be putting your energy in your marketing list campaign.
