Treating at home is cheaper but often not as effective. One can use salicylic acid, which is found in many acne treatments, on their wart.

It should be applied several times a day. This is not usually suitable for hand cases because the cream will come off when one washes their hands, and the treatment lost.

Other people like to use duct tape on their warts. Some maintain that this has been scientifically proven to work, but response is still mixed.

If one chooses to get their wart removed at the doctor’s, the physician will probably use liquid nitrogen to remove the wart. This may involve a couple of treatments and can be painful.

Warts on hands can be treated with various over the counter medications, although not all these treatments work for everyone and it is a question of trial and error.
